Design-led staging for empty homes with a 60-day rental of curated furniture and decor. Each space is scaled and styled to reflect the property’s value and attract the right buyer.
Occupied Consultations
Walkthroughs focused on presentation and prep. You’ll get a to-do list tailored to help the home show at its best, without us bringing in any inventory.
Investment Design
Selections for flips, remodels, and new builds. We choose materials and finishes that align with the home’s style, value, and buyer, often followed by vacant staging when the project is done.
Interior Design
Decorating and design services for your personal spaces. Intentional, curated, and tailored to feel like home.

About Me
I’m Destiny Larsen, founder of Brass & Batten Design. I’m an Air Force veteran turned designer with a love for creating spaces that feel intentional, stylish, and livable.
Design has always been at the heart of what I do. I thrive on selecting finishes, shaping interiors, and helping new builds come to life from a blank slate. Working closely with builders and homeowners, I bring a design forward approach that balances timeless choices with thoughtful details, ensuring each space feels elevated and cohesive.
Staging will always be a cornerstone of my business because it taught me how powerful design can be in shaping first impressions. Over the years I’ve staged Parade of Homes properties and model homes for some of West Michigan’s leading builders, experiences that pushed me to refine my process and bring an even higher level of detail to every project. Whether I am guiding finish selections or creating a home with flow and character, I bring the same strategic eye and attention to detail that staging made me known for.
When I’m not designing or staging homes across West Michigan, you’ll probably find me on a volleyball court, behind the wheel of my pink Jeep with Fleetwood Mac turned up, or treasure hunting vintage pieces. At home I love slow mornings, time with my husband, and life with our three dogs. I’m a fall girl through and through, and nothing makes me happier than apple cider donuts on a crisp autumn day.
Brass & Batten Design is more than a staging company. It is a design brand rooted in trust, vision, and intention. I’m proud to have built it from the ground up as a woman-owned and veteran-owned business. Supporting other women-owned and veteran-owned businesses is something I care about deeply. My time in the Air Force shaped me into someone who is strategic, decisive, and detail-driven, and those values show up in everything I create.

Destiny is a top-notch Staging professional. Her staging caught my eye before I even knew her. The level of design in her staging is of a higher caliber than any other local Grand Rapids, MI area stager that I have seen. Destiny’s eye for detail, scale, color & pattern (especially in her bedrooms!) reminds me of some of the highly regarded social media influencer interior designers, yet her pricing is a value compared to what she delivers. Destiny shops for not only modern trendy pieces that catch buyer’s eyes, she seamlessly blends vintage items that capture the emotional side of buyers. It never looks cheap or overly “builder grade”, because when you put cheap in an expensive home, you lower the perceived value of that home. When you put quality into the staging, as Destiny does, she can even bring the perceived value up in a more modest home. You won’t regret starting a consultation with Destiny!
